Start a Vanpool
If you are able to find several commuters with similar commutes to yours, you may be able to start a new RideFinders vanpool. Here is how to voyage into a new vanpool:
1.
If you have the desired number of commuters to start a new vanpool, go to Step 5.
2.
If you need more commuters, register with our free ridematching service to
find a ride
.
3.
Upon registration, obtain a “matchlist” of commuters with similar commutes to yours.
4.
Contact the commuters on the matchlist to determine their interest in a new vanpool.
5.
Once you have the desired number of commuters, determine the vanpool's operation:
Drivers:
Who will be the primary and back-up drivers (minimum 1 back-up)?
Timing:
What time will we leave for work and for home?
Locations:
Where will we meet, pick-up and drop-off? When you register to find a ride, you can also find a Park & Ride Lot to meet at and obtain directions.
Rules:
What radio stations do we listen to, how long do we wait, etc.?
Cost:
How much will it cost to ride? Enter the vanpool's one-way daily commute miles, current gas price and total riders for an estimated monthly fare for each rider.
6.
If you decide to form a vanpool,
contact us
to receive a Vanpool Application Packet.
7.
Complete and mail all vanpool application materials to RideFinders for processing.
8.
Once the primary and one back-up driver are approved, the new vanpool can start.
9.
New vanpools then receive the free
Guaranteed Ride Home
and other
vanpool benefits
.
