Vanpool Formation

Ridematching Service

Step 1:
When a group of commuters is interested in forming a vanpool, one of the commuters contacts RideFinders at (800) VIP-RIDE or ridefinders@mct.org to receive an application packet in the mail or via E-mail. If the group is seeking additional commuters for the proposed vanpool, RideFinders will generate a "matchlist" of prospective commuters from the Ridematching Service to send with the application packet.

Step 2:
The primary and back-up driver(s) each complete driver applications, authorization forms for RideFinders to perform background checks and the vanpool route sheet, and provide copies of their driver’s licenses. All riders, including the back-up driver(s), must complete rider agreements. When all vanpool application materials are completed, the vanpool group returns the packet to RideFinders.

Step 3:
RideFinders reviews the vanpool application materials and, once all drivers are approved and the vanpool route is verified, RideFinders sends the primary and back-up drivers individual driver agreements for signature. Upon receipt of the signed driver agreements, RideFinders schedules the vanpool start date and delivery of the van.
