What is a Vanpool?
A vanpool is seven or more commuters who share the ride to and from work in 15-passenger vans provided by RideFinders
for a monthly fare that covers the total monthly vanpool operating cost.
- Primary Driver: Receives a FREE commute in exchange for driving, fueling and obtaining preventive maintenance
for the van and performing basic administrative tasks.
- Riders: Pay an equal monthly fare to ride in the vanpool that covers the total monthly vanpool operating cost
- Back-up Drivers: Agree to drive the van when the primary driver is unable to drive due to vacation,
illness or another reason
Vanpool Overview
- Fuel and Wash: Vanpools receive fleet cards from RideFinders to purchase fuel at a savings of up to 15% on the pump price,
and obtain one free car wash.
- Insurance: RideFinders provides vanpool insurance at or above statutory minimums for bodily injury, property damage and uninsured motorists.
- Maintenance: The primary driver obtains basic preventive maintenance, while RideFinders performs extensive preventive maintenance and repairs.
- Reporting: Drivers compile daily vanpool mileage and ridership information to submit on a monthly and a random daily basis.
